The Junior High Program is designed for children who have completed grades 6-8.
The transition to middle school is definitely a big–and scary–step on the road to maturity. At TANG, the program directors and counselors work tirelessly to create programs for the campers to explore this new chapter in their life.
The Junior High Program boasts some of the most exciting activities and insightful small group sessions. Two JH counselors will lead a small group of 5-8 campers, which allows for the ideal environment to explore the conference’s theme, Taiwanese culture, and most importantly, themselves.
The typical day for a JH TANGer begins with waking up bright and early to have breakfast at 7am. After the delicious and nutritious meal, the JH counselors have plenty of morning activities prepared to energize the campers for the fun-filled day to come! Each day varies in its activities, but it typically consists of workshops and small group sessions that allow campers to reflect on the theme and how it relates to their own lives.
Activities range from inspiring speaker sessions to fantastically fun games (like the TANG Olympics!) to play with friends, both new and old. The JH campers also get the chance to work together and learn the importance of collaboration to create a performance at TANG’s very own talent show, Taiwan Night!
The day sadly ends with an enforced 11:00PM curfew. It is important that the campers get their rest in order to be ready for another exciting day at TANG!
